Dr Mary Adams is Senior Research Fellow, anthropologist and midwife, in the Department of Women and Children’s Health, School of Life Course Sciences. She is joint-lead on the National Institute of Health Research study investigating the disclosure and discussion of iatrogenic harm with women and families in NHS maternity care, and co-investigator on the National Institute of Health Research study evaluating the impact of the Local Guardian (staff ‘speaking up’) scheme in NHS acute and mental health trusts. She is working with the Centre of Team-Based Practice and Learning, as co-developer and co-evaluator of the ‘What Harm Happens’ experiential learning event.
